I had to play with it after I came home from work. With the engine hoist,I jacked it up as high it could go and sprayed it the factory Turquise. Looks purdy, but still have lots to do yet before she finds a permanent home between the two front wheels..

Krautmaster wrote ... How far down in the hole are the pistons?- The and originals were zero deck, but I can't tell from your pics ...maybe you don't have one rotated up to TDC, because they look to be down there quite a ways.
Not sure where the shop had them positioned at the time of the pic was taken But keep in mind the block has been square decked, and had ten thou shaved off the deck. Add another 7 thou when the heads were planed, and a thinner headgasket than you regular parts jobber one and the CR is between 9.2 and 9.5 Good enough for today's gas, plus the car will be a cruiser with the 2.94's in the rear.

What money?? Damn thing cost my New Yorker. Sold it on a Sunday, handed the keys, got the cash. Monday came and handed the money to Bullet Engines. I do not miss the old Barge..yet. I am moving forward on the BoaB since I do not have a drivable C. I cannot complain since Bullet did a great job and have been very patient with me since it took a while to get my lump out of their shop. [ Edited Tue Jun 22 2010, 10:52PM ]

I never thought of the HP or torque gumbers, really. Factory gross was 290 with the 2bbl carb. With the upgrades I will throw a guess of 335/350 horses and gobs o torque over 450. The .040 overbore makes it 390/391 cubic inches. She will be a big block that wil rev like a small block. With the highway gears,it probably never go over 5,000 RPM anyways. I cannot afford the local dyno testing facility around here anyways 500 bux for three runs.

When you come down with it, I can get it dyno'd for $100.
Holy Crap that much? Foosh. Id like to find out what my mostly stock build will do for my Port. According to a quick wiki search, the 77 RV was rated for 195 horses - Id like to see at least 200 for this engine, but I guess i wont really know unless i get a chance to dyno it. Either way, Im hoping she lights the meats up.

What cam grind, intake manifold and carb are you using ? Also, did you give the bowls a good blending along with the valve work?
Here is the last dyno run I got done on my 383 before my buddy lost his shop: Heads: Aerohead 346's from Mancini with blended bowls, big valves, three angle valve job, port matched, shaved .020" Cam: Comp XE 268H - 268/280 (224/230 @ .050 lift), .480" lift Intake: Eddy Performer RPM with 750 AFB The huge fat and flat torque curve makes for some fun driving!
