The ARP rod bolts only weighed 2 grams difference per cylinder so a rebalance of the crank was not needed. The rods were resized (again) and the ARP's got screwed in. Now I have a piece of mind knowing it will not come apart. The ARP main studs are overkill, but reliability is not comprimised. The last two mains studs are kinda tight to the rear main seal cap,but the windage tray & oil pan clears them---barely!!

How far down in the hole are the pistons?- The originals were zero deck, but I can't tell from your pics ...maybe you don't have one rotated up to TDC, because they look to be down there quite a ways.
When I was under my 71' I noticed it has AC Delco shocks on it and thought what the hell! Not that they make bad stuff but I have never been under a Ford or GM and viewed MOPAR shocks.

Wow! Time flies when ya having fun. It's been two whle months since I updated this thread. The engine has the heads, and valvetrain assembled. Good news the original length pushrods are fine and do not bind or bottom out from the additional machining of the block. The hard part is bail the darn thing out of the shop. The cost of the engine really hit me hard butt machine costs and 383 specific parts are not cheap nowadays. Plus my new job kept me occupied adjusting, resigning, coming back the next day,,blah blah blah. Plus I have been helping Theo with the Bluebird, and got Rusty to help out as well. Sandy's called me last week and the bumper has been rechromed and will get picked up next week. I will post an update on that thread after the trip to Syracuse. I am still gathering up NOS parts, trinkets, and memorbilia. Scored a few good NOS front end items from 73 Chrysler member here.Hoping to rip apart the front end when I pick up the parts. Even though the BoaB has not seen any action,i have been busy in the background. Priority now is do the front end,get the motor home, and after helping Rusty on Theo's bluebird, the Boab should see body work action. So,if you see any NOS 68 Chrysler trim items on ebay, let me know.I am probably watching or bidding on it anyways..so Back off!! LOL . !stop !crazy
