After a 6 month hiatus of not being able to cross the border,I am now legally allowed to cross again with my Enhanced Driver's licence. !dance Great news and I already made a run to pick up parts I scored online. NORS shocks, front brake drums, and NOS wiper arms, blades, and refills.

The shocks will be more like a static display--too nice to open. The drums will be used for safety inspection and show only. I have a good set I scored from Thrashingcows for driving. Yeah, the wiper blades I refurbished are OK..but nothing beats NOS!! NOS It is a dizzzeeeezz!! !stars [ Edited Sun Jan 31 2010, 05:58PM ]

The 383 is now at Bullet engines. http://www.bullet.on.ca/ .040 over cast pistons and rings have been ordered, the block is getting bored out. The original 906 heads I decided to do hardened valve seats with stainless valves, smooth out the bowls, and back cut the valves. Engine will be squared out, balanced and blueprinted. Rods will be resized. Not cheap, but will be reliable. Pics of the progress tomorrow.

Rusty finally has got time to do some bodywork. Today he took the front fenders for repair, prime and paint. I am hoping to afford paint at the end of the week.

So,with the engine out, fenders out,I better get my butt in gear. I have the special tools (thanks,Polaraco) to rebuild the front end which I need to do before dropping in the drivetrain--which I want done before screwing together the front sheetmetal. Things are moving along quite well... [ Edited Sun Jan 31 2010, 06:12PM ]
Leaburn: No complaints about how long it's taking you here. I'm likely speaking for other board members by saying your barge updates and some of the other ongoing project updates make this board particularly interesting. BTW the same Delco shocks are on the front of Nessie.

Absolutely! I enjoy reading them and find inspiration in them.

I had to take some parts to Bullet Engines so they can balance the crank. Here are some pics from the machine shop. Thanks to Rob and Steve of Bullet for allowing me inside the work area. Sown here is the crank mounted up on the "Dominator" which was especially built for Bullet. It is designed to handle cranks for 900+ HP racing engines. So,a C body cruiser 383 is chump change.
