She runs! But time was not kind to the appearance of the motor.I have engine paint on the shelf.I will do a proper tune up right before she hits the road....maybe next year.. The trunk is great! the big dark stain in the middle is from an oil soaked sponge sat for years. The old guy put it there when he put her up in 1974. [ Edited Thu Aug 31 2006, 09:25PM ]

In this set of pics,A good friend said I could take what I wanted off his '68 300 donor car--Score! The goodies are shown in my trunk.More free stuff....wheels and tires You can see where the pine tree rubbed against the car with years of sap build up.The tre had a dent in it!! Dog legs need work--but easliy repairable.Foors are SOLID.little lightning strikes at the driver's feet..nutin' serious.. I am taking another week off from work starting the 16th of this month.I will be doing more work to it then.I have to get it ready for winter storage.
Mint seats..The quarters need some fixin' over the skirts...typical.. Tahnks again to sjak_brak !thumb Cheers!! Leaburn

Update!! I went on a road trip to Clayton NY on Saturday to check out a new Mopar recycling resource. Not much in the way of C stuff. However, the guy did have a couple of '68 chryslers,a Newport 4dr and a 300 2dr. Basically I went along for the ride with my friend who had to pick up parts he ordered for his car.I was just soaking it all in. When I found the Newport,I asked how much for this and that, his prices were cheap. He has no real market or demand for the C stuff!! Good news for me!
2 rust free fenders-$75.00 !! Rust free trunk lid--$25.00!! Good rear bumper-25.00!! 2 rear doors--$50.00!! I am defintately going back--with a truck!! The C stuff does not sell at his yard. He mainly caters to the A/B/E crowd. The price of scrap is too good for him to keep the C's.Albeit if someone like myself wants anything he has,he would rather see it being used instead of going to the scrap metal place. Nice score!!! Any chance that the 68 300 in that yard in Clayton still has the grill? I'm looking for a complete setup, center grill, headlight buckets/doors, outer bezels, the door motor, and horizontal/vertical sheetmetal support/filler pieces.
How about your friend's 300 parts car? Think he might want to sell the grill?
Thanks.

The 300 in Clayton is for sale as a whole or as parts. My friend's 300,I'm not sure.I have to try to contact him.He was out for the long weekend. Both car's grilles are complete-but not perfect. Some pitting.A little elbow grease and detailing would go a long way. Both have the headlight motors and rods missing. PM or E-mail me for further info. Cheers! Leaburn Ppsst! francis you have mail!! LOL!! [ Edited Tue Sep 05 2006, 11:54AM ]

Today,I pulled out some old frost plugs and went to the machine shop. They gave me the right ones to fit---for free!! Now i have to tackle the left exhaust out of the way and install the new frost plugs into the left head...it mighttake a while....
