It's hard to find an X pipe that will fit the C body with the long tail shaft 727 tranny, but it will work great and give a few more horses than the H pipe. Here is a pic of a Fury with an X pipe system made at a muffler shop somewhere. The X is pretty far back, but it probably works good.

That wasn't made by any muffler shop, I made that one myself!!!
I was looking at it and thinking 'hey, that looks like a decent job'. Took me a little while to look at all the details and realize I was looking at the under side of my own car...
I always keep pics of interesting stuff, because you never know when it will come in handy. Sometimes I'lll find myself thinking that I've seen something before, but I can't really remember where, so it's off to the compubox to look at photos, and wha-la. there it is!

would be interesting to dyno that and then the traditional H pipe. Having the X back so close to the mufflers may not be the greatest thing, especially since the exhaust is coming into the muffs at a 45*. Now, I'm sure it doesn't kill hp by any means, but you may be net 0 or even down a couple compared to no crossover at all. Why can't dyno runs be $5 a pop?

I was in contact with Alana at TTi a few months ago, after finding out the casting numbers of Year Ones repros.
I was told that for HP's and C-bodies, TTi do two left, and two right head pipes. For the left side head pipes, the casting numbers are 3418351 and 3751068. for the right, 2806900v and 2899879.
Why they dont do a head pipe for the Year One repros is beyond me, especially as at least the right hand was fitted to C-bodies!
I have a TTI 2 1/2" H pipe system on my Newport, and it bolted right up to my HP manifolds (Left # 2863409, Right #2806900). I think the manifold numbers you listed are for the later 70-73 ones with the ribs and heat stove, but otherwise the same as the older manifolds.

The problem Uncle Joe is referring to (and Ive been down this road with TTI myself) is that they dont seem to be interested in doing extra legwork to build their C-body headpipe applications.
I asked the question if the driverside 69-older HP C-body headpipe would interchange to the 70-71 HP style with the heat stove. Emailed them twice but never got an answer.
I would think it would be in their interest to find as many applications as possible for their existing products -- all it would take is to make jig patterns off the manifolds themselves, then see what manifolds interchange into that jig. The headbolt pattern is the same for all bigblocks, so a jig really just needs to mate to the outlet flange. If I were selling headpipes and all I had to do was buy a #xxx manifold off Ebay to get another application covered, Id invest the $100 in a used manifold to verify it.
If they would have answered that question, I would have bought an entire system from them. Instead, they blew me off, and I found myself building my own exhaust instead. I guess I should thank them, really, because I learned about X-pipes in the process
