I know that his has been discussed before, but I am having a hell of a time finding the info. What are the correct part numbers for HP exhaust manifolds that will fit my '71 383? I have seen references to c-body only manifolds and also some that are listed forC and B or C and E bodies. Most of the manifold info on the web is pretty clear for '69 and before but '70 forward is confused. Thanks in advance for straightening me out.
And if anyone wants to get something off their chest about using the TTI headers instead of coating some HPs, I am all ears. I will be using the TTI duals. As long as no problems reveal themself, I will be sticking to the stock heads, so I won't have the problems that I've read about with the Eddy aluminum heads + manifold fit.
This is the best all around thread, with other links within. Beyond that, search here for "hp manifold" and you will have plenty of reading material. The search feature is your friend! Dave

Thanks. I read that thread very carefully and had already read through the linked sites that list casting numbers. That would have been great if I were looking for '69 or earlier. The sites that list manifolds and applications do not show a left side HP manifold for 70-71 BB. They list a number of manifolds for 70-71 without stating whether they are HP or LP:
quote:
383 1970-71 B&C-Body / Right 2899879 383 1970-71 B&C-Body / Left 2951865 383 1970-71 C Body / Right 2899879 383 1970-71 C-Body / Left 2951216 383 1970-71 C-Body / Right 2899970 383 1970-71 C-Body / Left 2951861
unquote.
There are other sites that have a table that doesn't line up and do not list a left side C-body HP and the right side that they list is listed as B, E, C which is contrary to information that I have read/been told previously.
You can use the older (68-69) drivers side manifold, pn 2863409, as long as you don't want to use the heat stove. The 70-73 manifold (pn 3418351) is basically the same, it just has fins cast into the side for the heat stove (the cardboard tube that goes to the air cleaner snorkel). The passenger side should be pn3751071 or 2899879--not sure if they are different or not. As for using HP's or headers, it just depends how much $$ you want to spend and how much power you want to make.

Okay, sometimes I get things eventually. So, I would want to track down the stove if I have a '71 dual snorkel air cleaner if it is not the same piece as is over my lp manifold. Thanks for the help.
