Based on what I had removed from the belly of the beast, everything is painted black, and the car was than sprayed MM1 with overspray going in from the sides to the center of the car. The floor pans are black,so is the area over the rear axle. This will get cleaned up and repainted. The rear fenderwells will get freash rubber undercoating for noise dampening and protect the paint from stone chips.

OK.The sending unit has been repaired-cost? 40 bux I will prep the tank and get it hung up.The fuel lines will be done at a later time after the rest of the belly is cleaned. My priority is to get the wheels back on her before winter sets in. also behind the scenes my numbers correct 26" 383 4bbl rad is being repaired and recored.Cost? 325.00 OUCH! But still cheap insurance compared to a well cooked 383,eh?

Over the course of the weekend I did work on the car. That is after I cleaned up the garage somewhat to walk around. I cleaned and prepped the fuel tank, filler neck, and tank straps. I also hand bent the vent lines for the tank. The old ones were OK,but new ones always look better. I sprayed the tank with rubberized undrcoating and then painted it silver to emulate a galvanized tank

Hoping to get back in the garage this weekend. I am waiting for the correct "J" hooks for the tank straps to get the tank installed. In the meantime I have been searching for other parts the car is lacking.E bay is keeping me busy lurching,searching.. Nights are chilly here now so I really don't feel like being out in the shop after supper. The days are still nice so I will see how Saturday goes. Cheers!. [ Edited Wed Oct 17 2007, 07:18PM ]

I am still amazed on how the trunk survived all the years outside in the weather. The factory seam sealer was tired, though.Either loose, cracked or just plain gone.I decided to remove all of it,clean and reseal.....Good thing, too. I found surface rust underneath it-probably from the water running down from the rusted out rear window..I buffed it clean and discovered there was NO paint under the seam sealer!! No wonder these cars rotted out so bad at the seams!! Note water stains..
