Geez you guys, you're as bad as me. Here's the story on the Seagrave. It came from a small dept in southwest Iowa and has 2600 original on the clock. A guy here bought it without telling his wife. (I've found the women and fire engines mix like fertilizer and diesel fuel) Anyway, he puts it on ebay and gets his money back out of it. He decides to take it for one last ride and the rear diff gives out. Repair estimate is $4200.00, since parts are no longer available and would have to be machined. He calls me up and says if I want this thing I can have it for $500.00, otherwise it gets scrapped. So now it sits in my shop waiting for the rearend from the '65 in Columbus. Pic of my ugly mug ruining the view of the truck
Even for $4700, if one of those became available to me and my wife found out I past, she would Not speak to me for months! She is a fire truck junky! Her dad is a retired fireman / inspector. She is ate up with all related things.
That is Super Cool!! [ Edited Sun May 28 2006, 10:15PM ]
