Call around on the transports. I got a 69 from Vegas to Kansas City for $500. That was through a broker, I paid $100 to the broker in advance and the balance to the transport upon delivery. Also, make sure they will give you updates on the progress. My driver called me every 4 -6 hrs updating me! I have heard stories of cars missing for weeks!

I bought a trailer. with 7 cars, it's paid for itself. But then again, I have a diesel pick up.
Looked into that, already own a trailer. Here's the math: 4000 miles round trip divided by 15 MPG (Ford Powerstroke diesel)=267 gallons of fuel X $3.00/gal=$800.00 If I drive like a maniac I can make the trip in three days total, so 2 days motel room @$75.00/night = $150.00. I'll miss at least one day at work = $168.00 Grand Total $1118.00

That's pretty much why I just deal with local cars. I have been fortunate in the past with that and with people giving them away for free, but recently it's been slim pickins!

Yeah or he gets me to move it. . . .
I didn't realize it was 4000 miles. 1000 miles a day is pretty grueling. . .been there, Done that. I thought it was more like 800 miles. But then again, you have a Power Joke. . . .heheheheh I get 14 loaded on my Cummins, just had a new injector pump put in, so now I should be doing better tha that.
I limit it to 1200 miles one way. I am going to Clearwater Florida next month to pick up my 59 Chrysler. That's 1250. But I will do it in 5 days round trip, with a day lay over down there.
BTW, I have an empty trailer going to Tampa from NJ. Anyone need anything moved south? I will be loaded for the duration of the trip

Like I said, local cars around here are great for drivetrain and interior parts. The bodies and frames rotted away before the cars got any kind of serious miles on them. I used to get lots of good stuff out of the Dakotas, which are only about 8 hours from here. That has kind of dried up recently though.
Over the weekend I'm driving 500 miles to Columbus, OH to disassemble a parts fire engine in order to finish my current project a 1966 Seagrave. After I finish the Fury I'll be able to start my own municipality.
