Today,I finshed prepping the firewall. Rusty came by to set up my new touch up gun which was on sale at Princess Auto for 18 bux. He then ended up painting the firewall for me! What a guy!! !thumb We applied a two-stage primer.First coat revealed constamination so I eneded up using a half gallon of laquer thinner removing it. Try again. It laid down good. Then two coats of MM1 paint. I just love this color when it lays down. Being cheap does not mean it has to look cheap! LOL

The car is now back on its tires.I had done a mock up of the front fenders, trunk lid,and rear doors. The heater core is back in the box and box installed in the car. I have not been posting much lately but I have been busy. Mainly getting ready for winter. Like last winter no work will be done on the car to keep heating costs down. So,she is on dollies and all covered up.She got pushed to one side of the garage to make room for the winter beater. I also stored the New Yorker today as well. I would like to thank everybody for watching, and Scott for letting me share my experiences here. I am flattered from those who say I am an inspiration.Thank You. The praises only make me want to do the car right-the right way even if it means stopping to save money. I will be lurching around here,no worries. Till spring see ya!! Leaburn

Went through half a six pack going over the whole thread. I want to thank Scott as well (whom ever he may be) for letting you post such an inspiring effort. Seeing what you have accomplished is awe inspiring. I hope I can do half as well. I have done very little with my project, since hard times have fallen on us lately. do not feel sorry for us, as we are better off than many I know. One thing I learned is when a door closes a window opens. I am now trying to sell some of the stuff I have been hording for decades. Might get me noticed by the very people I will need to know when I get this "hobby" to be my retirement. Like Ted Nugent once said " Lucky Me My Work Is Play" I like metal too. I noticed that you reupped the mortage. I thought about that, but am way to close to being "Paid in Full" that I just cant do it. My situation is just the opposite of yours. Around here the only time a guy has to get busy on the car is winter. Too busy in the summer. So the shop becomes 1st priority. Just about got the house roof shingled, looks like I will need a broom to finish. This winter I hope to get my transmission completely rebuilt in the older smaller shop. Another step. I am sure there will be questions asked and answered in that process. I have been trying to sell parts to get the proper tools. A means to an end. I think I am ramblin". Thanx fer da inspiration. and Keep On Truckin'. !thumb !thumb !thumb

!thumb Thanks Boogieart. I hope things go well with your project.take your time and spread out the love,LOL.That's the key--do it when you can afford it and not be without milk... I still am buying up cheap NOS parts on E bay and local yards when stuff comes in. We are starting to feel the pinch of the global enconomic slump. Luckily,we are in good shape in this household. After my renewal, getting rid of the small debts, life is better. Back to the car,I still have a long ways to go.But every little step helps to get closer to the day I can driver her for the first time.
