On the 65-68 convertibles, I take it that the convertible top material is sandwiched on the outside of the body, between the trim surrounding the top opening and some other stuff above the body? I'm trying to get a handle on a top swap I'm going to try this year (come he77 or high water), and the FSM isn't very clear in this respect...
Thanks, Clair
I have the same style mount on our car, but it leaks along that edge (seeps into the window well under the vinyl window). Does anyone know what are we supposed to seal it with? There doesn't appear to be any sort of gasket there. Thanks Julian

Holy flashbacks, Batman... I've got nothing to add to this except that I can't figure out if it was he77 or high water that kept me from getting that top on last year. This year FOR SURE... !whip
ON the topic of carpets: I"ve got a 64 300 and I want to know who's the best to go to for carpet sets. My car has the red carpet and I don't want that wonderful fading or 'color changing carpet' look. is ACC recommended or are there other places to get this carpet, and what type of carpet would this be?

Maybe if the cracks aren't too numerous you could fix it with the tape and VLP trick in the Upholstery Archive. If it's too far gone, Just Dashes might be able to mold a new cover on it.....
I bought some VLP today as per Stitcherbobs advice and going to try some vinyl repair tomorrow. Had a heck of a time finding it local.Bought the only tube at Ace Hardware.Have they discontinued the stuff?Alternative?

Hi all.
I have a 72 Dodge Polara wagon that has dealer-installed seat covers. I would like to remove them so I can sit on the factory seats, I would guess they are fastened on with hog rings. My question are, can I just take some side cutters to remove them? Also, would I have to remove the seats from the car in order to do this?
