Hi, I've just got hold of a set of 15" stock steel rims to replace the 14" rims that my car came with. If all 4 rims were 7" then I'd definitely go for 235/70R15 tires all round, but I've ended up with a pair of 7's and a pair of 6.5's and I'm trying to figure out what would look (and work) the best. 235's all round or...to try and make the rim fit look the same...225's up front with 235's at the back? Would probably got with BF Goodrich Radial T/A's.

Yes, I'd like 245's on the rear but I want raised white letter tires and there's not much choice in the UK. I'm pretty much limited to the Radial T/A's and Hercules HP 4000 and neither have that size with the 70 profile....just in a 60. Not sure that would look right.
With the makers deciding they don't want to make 14 inch tires any longer due to less and less requesting for and sells - it is a wise $$$ cost change to make the switch now to 15 inch wheels and their tyres.
When you car was new - all makers and divisions sold more "Black Wall" tyres than any other marketed tyre. Why not make use of this and for now and install a set of common 235 x 75 x 15 inch "Black Wall" All Season Radials. When others look at this use The Factual History - "to set them straight".
You will be driving around - showing off your ride with a correct set of tyres - while looking for that set of dream tyres --- that cost twice as much.
