Hey Scott, is it cool if I move the Fury build thread into here? The site I used to be part of got bought by the Russian mafia (or equivalent) and ran the old guys out of town on a rail.
A brief timeline:
2001 - Start hanging out with a Mustang guy in college; achieve moderate success with turbos & V8s 2002 - Idea to use Ford EFI and 4 small turbos on a big Chrysler motor hashed out over a beer keg 2003 - Get kicked out for being too drunk...the EFI & 4 turbos idea sticks for some reason 2004 thru 2006 - Sell most of my go-fast stuff to get back into college, graduate, begin working in machine shop 2007 - Fury thumps back to life with all of my "first try" machined parts, 4 turbos, EFI 2008 thru 2014 - Almost every weekend devoted to Mustangs with turbos, sometimes for profit 2015 thru 2017 - Our work catches the eye of a famous professional pro-mod tuner, completely re-work moderately successful Mustang, get a hot rod job in aero manufacturing BUT get to keep keys to the old shop, aero job is stressful and eats all remaining free time, *Fury remains parked almost the entire time*
In 2014, I got the "tank-slapper" vibration pinpointed and fixed: seized / non-floating calipers + destroyed rotors + loose lugnuts (beware of too-thick powdercoating!)
Last time I had it out was 2015, where it drove to Keshena, WI and back with only one hiccup: BBQ'd valvecover gaskets by way of cast aluminum valvecovers too near to headers. We roasted so many northshore Bimmers & Audis on the way up I lost count. Completely buried the speedometer many times; wish I'd gotten video. New front end / brakes / alignment / rubber made it sure-footed as a mountain goat. (This reminds me, I found an old Mopar guy who manages a Midas, or something like that, in Tinley Park and will align old Mopars himself...I'll post info when I dig it out.) Pic taken on a lazy cruise back through Wauwatosa:
Where are we today? For starters, the leaky valvecovers made me so mad that I'm making my own steel valvecovers with a groove for a silicone O-ring, of course!
These are 3/16" thick mechanical steel 4.5" x 4.5" square tube, and will be welded to a 1" thick 1018 hot-rolled bar (flange). Designing them to work with both iron heads and my new Edelbrocks (since I'm not sure I'll have my new bullet together for this summer) has made this twice as difficult, for a few reasons I won't bore you with unless you're REALLY bored.
We are moving the turbos forward and away from the valvecovers since I'm going solid roller, but the dry sump is going to require a perfectly sealed motor anyway.
(Hanging out at PRI was a bad idea...it's really really easy to get talked into the $$$ coolest stuff $$$ available!)
Anyway, my old 440 crank + some goodies and a Don Bailey cam should round out the long block. I scored a free 4L80E which I'm gonna tear into (should be fun), and GUESS WHAT?? I found out at PRI that Strange offers a complete Dana for 1965-1978 C-bodies!!!!!!!! (I mused aloud that it was all due to the hard work of Big Anthony Mixon and Vicky; many staffers perked up and came to talk to us after that, haha).

I hasten to add: this was, and (hopefully) always will be a budget build...not trying to steal the real BOAB thunder here.
- Turbos are 3 rebuilt junkyard clunkers and one miracle NOS ebay score: ~$700 total
-Welding costs have been zero (well, bartering for machine work anyway)
-The single-most expensive thing on the car is the old (purchased used) FAST classic B2B, worth about $1K complete with harness back then. A friend recently sold an identical unit for $450. (Not looking for sympathy here, just pointing out it’s not a skizillion dollar F1 box.) I also seem to recall the Siemens 83s being about $450 when purchased new. That’s where all the money is, haha! Everything else up to this point has been normal old car drivability & safety maintenance.
Some of the new motor expenses might raise eyebrows re: “budget friendliness.” If I thought I could do 9s reliably with parts any cheaper, I would, trust me.

wow that is awesome got any pics of how you mounted the turbos ?
Anthony was chronicling his adventures here at one time. Pics of his old setup are here. Possibly this is the site that got taken over by the Russian mafia.

HAHA, no no, tonybob.com is still very much my baby. I was referring to a certain Mustang site....mustangs with turbos.com, something to that effect. I’ll mine for the important pics and report back. For now, see:

My 66 Windsor with he 451 was getting pretty rough, so it went under the knife for major restoration 6 years ago. It's been at a bodyshop for just over 2 years, but looks like it will finally be coming home in January. I don't want to hijack your thread, so I'll link to another thread with more details and links to progress pics.
In 2006 I also bought a second '66 Chrysler, a Newport convertible. Apparently the "Russian mob" has been messing with the image sizes at this link and broke some of them. If you click on the pictures you'll see them properly.
