Just before the snow falls I figured I would get started on this project. It took two hours to pull the motor. That is the fast i have got one out. Having no options helped.
Compression was in the 120-130 range on a TNT motor. It came up to 140-150 with some oil in the cylinders. I was hoping for a quick clean up but may be a full rebuild.

ya.. should have checked the oil pressure but ill pull the bearing and have a look. It surprising ran well when I drove it one day for a hour around the neighborhood and it was a blast. The car is still on bias ply... bahaha
I was just planning to get the engine pull started and not take it out completely that day but it just went so fast and before i knew it is was ready to pull.
The gravel was fun to deal with. I push the car back and dragged the hoist with the motor down low with a car till it was in front of the garage door. Overall it was way easier than i would have thought.
Its up on the stand now. Ill pull the heads tonight if i get time. The valley pan is off and it clean inside.
This one will go into my Newport and replace a somewhat tired 383. The TNT stuff (exhaust manifold, air cleaner and the chrome covers) from this motor will go in the 300 convt. The 300 convt had a rebuilt motor in in already. The 300 the engine is is out of will probably be parts for the convt.
Its all good till the music stops ( or the money runs out) Bahahah

Sounds like you've found ah winner. What's wrong with 125-130 compression? If those #'s are close on all 8 I'd maybe do the heads if they really need it(you never said if you're playing with 906's or hardened seats in 452's or something else) and maybe main and rod bearings and run with it!
