my dad has a 360 engine in his imperial. Its a swap engine because the 440 was missing. The 360 is from a van. Now there is at minimum one lifter broken (ticking noises). Now there is someone here in germany who is selling is new lifter set oft crane hi intensity lifters. Will those work with the engine? I read that they are for engines witch a cam that needs more compression. It would cause low speed detonations if the compression is too high.

Make sure you know what is causing the ticking noise before spending any money. Ticking can be caused by several things. Worn rocker arm, weak springs, sticking valve, bent push rod, even an exhaust leak. If you are sure it is a lifter then please disregard my comment.

yeah we are sure. the thing is, that those lifters are very cheap. I mean very very cheap. And we don't want to put too much money in the engine. The goal is to put a 440 in it (how it supposed to be). We just want to keep it running for a while.
