Unless you are running lower gears, higher stall converter, recurved distributor, and headers I wouldn't bother. Some people make good power and like the cam but not what I would recommend for a heavy car with highway gears. Build for torque for the street.

I would agree with that, and like to add one thing. There are a few "OK" cams for a 440 engined C out there, but none that are as good as they could be.

It depends...
What are you trying to accomplish and what will the car be used for mostly?
If it is mostly a cruise nite cruiser, stoplight warrior, you can do the usual bolt ons with 3.91 gears and the "right" converter and be in the 13's and have fun beating up on import squirrels that aren't paying attention.
That cam has really good mid-range so if you want to go play on the freeway with the BMW crowd, you tone the gear down to a 3.23 and a "Hemi" style converter which would stall in the 2500 range. This setup won't be quite as quick at the stoplights but it won't be a dog either. Installing it 4 deg advanced helps pick up the bottom end torque which will help with the stoplight manners.
The idle is a little choppy and the vacuum a little less than ideal for power brakes so it's as usual a matter of what can you live with.
If you are sticking with exhaust manifolds and don't want the rough idle, the MP528 solid might be a better fit as it has 8 degrees less overlap so it idles nicer and is more power brake friendly.

Was told back in the 90's that RACER BROWN made the Mopar purple cams. I think Mancini or Ramchargers told me that. I had the 484 in my 68' NewYorker. Loved it! Good sound and midrange pull. TP

I recall Mopar Perf. describing this cam as the biggest cam which could still be used with a stock convertor. I had one in my '67 440 Newport at the time. Ran 14.7 with it.
But after I installed a solid Erson cam, 3.91:1 gears, dual 4bbl and a 3800 stall convertor... that's when the fun started and the car managed 13.6s on the 1/4mile.
I would consider Hughes Engines for your cam. These guys only grind MOPAR cams. Not chevy cam specs for mopars. If you call them or email them with your setup, they will spec the proper cam for you. It's worth a shot, nothing worse then spending your hard earned money on a cam you may not like.
