Any ideas on why my car doesnt like to start in the morning as in I get in turn key and nothing happens... nothing at all not a click, a whine, just nothing... 4 or 5 or 6 times and then i'll get back in key it and starts like normal.
I checked the battery its connected fine.
Never seemed to have starter isssue. I can turn it off an back on no problem, I also only get this in the morning it wont occur for the rest of the day... So figure it sits fo a good 10 hours from night drive to the morning...
BULK HEAD CONNECTOR! Remove the bulkhead connectors, put some vasoline on them and plug them back in. Historical problem with that vintage. That wiring concept was used from 69 to 73 and abandoned.
It's a yellow wire for the relay circuit.. Runs from the ignition switch to the Bulkhead connector, then to the relay. While you're in there, check the #10 grade wire. It's either red or black. (Heaviest wire going through) That is the power supply from the battery to the ignition. There is also a 2nd heavy wire. ( Black or red. ) The spade connectors tend to over heat and loosen causing excessive power loss. Lots of diming and slow running devices in the car. If they are burned real bad, and likely they are, you need to repair it. If you see the car charging all the time, and have excessive dimming, that's the cause on the C Bodies
I just drill through the connector and put a wire with insulated connectors on both sides for serviceability.
Other causes are as mentioned and even a starter. The starter has a salonoid in it too. [ Edited Tue Nov 08 2005, 06:15PM ]

I'll say it's probably the starter relay or it could be the battery terminals. My wifes 94 Taurus wagon was having issues on starting, your problems sound very similar to hers. I disconected the terminals, cleaned everything good and shiney then reattached it all and BOOM no more starting problem.
John Where are you in Jersey. Maybe I can look at it for you. . . . I'm in Dover Area, Not Dover Twsp. . . The north Dover (Morristown Rt 80)
I used to work for Dodge when these puppies were brand new. That's how I know about the bulkhead connectors.
Don't rull out any of those posibilities. . . But no Click or anything. . . Could be a flakey ignition switch too. It needs to be poked at a bit to narrow it down. Did this start when the weather started to change? [ Edited Wed Nov 09 2005, 05:34PM ]

Ok
1. thanks alot guys. 2. I'm in the Piscataway area, so think 287 exit 9 3. as a matter of fact yes when it got colder this all started
I did the whole clean the terminals thing and no luck there, also the dash lights do dim at night when your not on the gas so it might be the wiring idea.
