Work with me, not against me. tell me what i'm missing.
We are not trying to discourage you on this swap. We are only trying to point out that with only 7 weeks you might not have enough time to get this project going. The mechanical part is easy, the electrical and working the bugs out will take the longest.
I know it seems to make sense, for the money at least, to do this now but your biggest limiting factor is time.
I know we would all love to see this upgrade done, but from the information posted so far I think you might be shipping this car to your new residence rather then driving it.
Again we are just trying to help you make the right decision, at least for right now.
And I greatly appreciate the sentiment. However being the stuborn ass that I am I'll be going forward with this one probly send myself to an early grave trying to get it right too. !whip
I'm considering picking up an instrument cluster out of the correct year/make/model truck that this came from and play with the inputs see if I can't find a way to cut-up/solder it into my current dash while its raining so I don't have to worry as much about compatability.

Thanks Bill I appreciate it, and I will.. I never realized how heavy that motor and trans was till I pull it out of my car and the front end is suddenly chest high to me.. OMG.
BTW Bill I notice in your Sig you've got a 5.7 in your jeep I may be tapping you for various stock setup questions if you don't mind sir.

While I like the swap idea, I think it would be bad timing. There is no real shortage of wrecked Rams out here in fact there is a local who has been trying to sell his roll over 2WD 1500 for awhile now. If he wakes up on the asking price you could have everything you need. I have heard that they can now flash a 04/05 AT ECU with a MT program. I think that would be the quickest way to get it up and running initially. Use your existing trans. Mounts shouldn't be a problem since the B/E bodies use the same brackets. I had thought about using a /6 radiator since the inlet & outlet are on the same side. I would rather buy 2 aluminum rads and swap the tanks before buying the overpriced conversion one. Good luck on whatever you decide.

If I can - but I really don't know much about the engine setup. My Jeep is a fully loaded version and has more wire and piping than you would believe possible to cram under a hood. It seems almost every system whether it be lights, wipers, steering, braking and even radio volume is computer controlled and interconnected to the engine/transmission circuits. My engine also has the variable 4 cyl vs 8 cyl mode.
Being a chicken, I purchased a 7 year bumper to bumper warranty extension and let my dealer look after everything.

Wait wait wait... you mean B/E bodies use the same motor mounts for the 5.7 Hemi as us C-bodies?

Should be the same. LA & BB use the same brackets. Might be something else with the conversion mounts I'm not thinking of.

Ok, I've been doing a lot of reading up on exactly how many of the conversions have been done so far. Most of the big problems people are having I already have built in solutions to since... the small block C bodies are rear sump oil pans. The biggest issue will be the mounts for transmission and engine. I've got a guy over here who does metal fab that i'm gonna bring in to give me a hand on those since the places that do sell brackets want 120+ a pair for weld on and 230+ for bolt on. That's not counting the fact that so far I haven't seen any for C-bodies heh. Next i'm looking at figuring out a way of transplanting the ram wire harnesses to my fury. Getting a cheap junkyard instrument cluster to play with as far as wiring goes
