Furious, sit tight, I've decided to write an detailed look into how Ma Mopar uses the 3-wire alternator, how the charging works and how to modify these systems for monster alternators and large load toys like amps, headlights, cooling fans etc.
It will be based upon my '70 Fury but will apply to all our cars.
First draft is done, just making a few diagrams and some proof reading.

I haven't done the ammeter by-pass surgery yet. Weather has taken a crap on us for a change. I'm going to check all these threads out carefully once again, then check my bulkhead connector for any evidence of electrical melt-down. Then, I'll probably ask a few more questions before I finally dig into the wiring.
