My ragtop retains the original 318....although it is filled & topped with 340 six-pack goods and 5.9 Durango exhaust manifolds. The 2-door I fetched from Moorefield, WVa was a 383hp car housing a 67 RT's 383...that one is under the work bench.

My Fury was orginally equipped with a 383 (I'm unsure if it was a 2 or 4 barrel) but has had four other engines since, all 440's. The previous owner was responsible for installing the first three; it came with a 1975 smog motor when I purchased it three years ago. It currently has a brand-new 496 stoker from another 440 supplied by my engine builder.
To my knowledge, the 360 Polara is all-original except for the wierd Oldsmobile wire hubcaps that were on it when I rescued it.

Joe, if your car still has the fender tag you will know what your car came with.
My '70 Newport left the factory with a 383 2bbl. It sat on the lot in North Hollywood unrtil August 31, 1971. The man intereted in it had a '65 300 Sport with the 383, and he never liked it. So, he told the dealer that if they would install a 440 in the car he would buy it. They did.
I have all of the original paperwork, including his financial contract. They gave him $1,900 on his trade-in for the 300.
The motor in my car is assembly dated March 2, 1971. It is a lo-po 440. I have installed dual exhaust, a dual snorkle air-cleaner, aluminum MP intake, and an MP ignition. Other than that the motor is stock.
Now, for the rest of the story:
'80 Mercedes 300 TD - 3.0 five cylinder diesel (non-turbo). '93 Dodge B250 Conversion Van - 318 (5.2) Magnum '96 Dodge Stratus - 2.4 four cylinder '00 Plymouth Neon - 2.0 four cylinder '73 Gremlin project car - 401 AMC V-8 - not built yet

Mostly 440's, one was an original TNT 440 (too bad the car was junk). Current 300 has a stock 440; possibly making it into a stroker but probably just swapping in another 440 that runs better and doesn't leak oil for the time being.
