Sorry to hear about that. I'd put a note or something on the fender at the car show and not stress about it until afterwards. Well, maybe not but it's easy to say. I'd be NFURI8ED!
Things are going to get ugly tomorrow. I have have a can to open on someone! Meet with the adjuster again today. He says he found 3 fenders, I say cool, me too. He proceeds to say they are used, one is $100 and one is $75!?? What??? I say, OK, mine are NOS $465 and $500. He goes deer in headlights. He proceeds to say the third he didn't follow up on because it said it had rust. Rust?? You think a $100 fender doesn't have rust!!??
The place with the fender says it will take about an hour to clean up. What EVER!! The guy us standing right in front of my car when he says this. It is going to take more than an hour to prep an NOS fender to be straight and line up properly on my car! He says "I" cam call them and check on the quality. FINE!.
I call Oregan, The fender is outside on a rack, been there 2 yrs and covered in SNOW!! They can't get a ladder out there to see if it is any good till Monday at the earliest!!!! I am now more pissed at the adjuster than the guy that hit me!! I describe the car to the guy in Oregan and he says he wouldn't recommend putting the fender on my car, YA THINK???
Turns out Valley Vintage has a $300 one, heck the $100 one was going to need $150 in media blasting before we could even decide if it is usable!
So now I have to fill out some forms and fax them in about the parts. I called and left a very DIRECT message about the situation and how IT IS going to be resolved! I stopped and talked to my agent to get the #$%# forms and he even said it was Bull and they should use the NOS fender, and if they don't call him.
The thought of clobbering the Cornwell guy never really popped to mind, the adjuster on the other hand... This ain't no Neon buddy!
The problem with the show is they might not let me in with the busted fender. We have been talking with the promoter and he isn't sure if it is allowed. He is supposed to find out and make a decision tomorrow. I do at least get my $50 bucks back if it doesn't go.

NFURY8, I was very saddened by those pictures, particularly after all the recent work that has gone into your car. I hope everything works out and that you will be back on the streets in style soon! When my brand-new engine had to be sent back to the shop and rebuilt and my Fury spent three months sitting in outside in a crowded, salt-ridden parking lot, I was on pins and needles myself. In fact, the car came back with a crooked hood, several huge gouges in the decklid and about a pound of pine needles in every crevice. Worse yet, the engine still needs to be re-tuned, and must go back in the spring to have the final bugs worked out, at my expense of course. The '75 smog motor that I used to have never gave me such trouble, but I'm sure the swap will be worth it in the long run. I hope you're able to get everything back in order soon---even if you don't end up making the show, we're all cheering for you on this end.
