Hi guys, My name is Doug from Florida. I mostly lurk here, but need some help. I got my 65 Fury III back from the body shop after 2 years, and can't remember where the wiring harness for the rear lights mounted in the decklid goes. There is a plug in the trunk on the left side, can anyone tell me how the wire runs up to the lights? Thank you. Here are some pics, I just put 275/50/15s under it, they fit well.
There may be a hole in the bottom driver's side of the deck lid, where the diagonal rib meets the perimeter ribbing. That should be where the tail light wiring will run - that's where it runs on my 66.
Fish it through with a long coat hanger from around the middle near the latch. The tail light sockets and all will lie in the area behind the lights and plug in.
Thanks for the response, Yea I see that hole, the trunk hinge takes that space up, I'll try to vacuum a string through there and see if the plug will fit, if that where it goes.

It goes up the right side deck lid hinge where it is retained with a metal clip and then passes up the deck lid cross brace and out on the apron of the back of the deck lid. You may wish to take the opportunity to replace the wires themselves as they may chafe or go brittle from age.

So it doesn't go inside the hinge cavity next to the truck hinge?
They don't go in the hinge hole. They should have a dedicated hole. On my Monaco it is driver's side, so perhaps it is different for Fury. Perhaps someone can post pics.
I think I have a good idea of how to do it. There just isnt much room inside the trunk brace to get the plug down. Thanks for the response guys. BTW really nice Monacos!!

I fished mine through the brace with a wire. Just make sure to put electrical wire around the connector so there are no sharp edges on the plug to catch. If you don't use the bracket to attach the wire to the hinge arm, use something else like slip ties or tape lest the wires get pinched in the hinge itself.
