I am also partial to keeping OEM. Then again, my Fury is all original numbers so I don't want to change that. If anything had been changed in the past, ie; motor replacement, etc., then I might feel differently. The one thing I really hate is when someone throws all the modern, all out of proportion stuff on a beautiful car and destroy its looks. Fortunately, usually those consist of outlandish wheels, etc., and can be replaced. I have to admit I love that you are thinking of keeping it original. It's way too pretty as it is to start messing with it, imho.
Is there a best place to buy parts such as repro carpet/ seat covers etc?
Welcome to the forum!
Carpet: you will find that everyone sells the same carpet, manufactured by ACC. So just shop on price, remember to figure in the shipping / GST / brokerage if you get it from the States. Some Canadian vendors would be RPM in Saskatchewan (www.rpmparts.ca) and NOS Reproductions in Ontario (www.nosreproductions.com). But there may be somebody closer to you.
Seat Covers: Check with Legendary to see if they have them, otherwise you may be stuck having a shop do them up from fabric.

I didn't know that you could cut and polish a vinyl roof. I was thinking there must be a vinyl roof spray but I like the idea of polishing the old one.

Thanks - the color combo and the 440 was what sold me on the car - didn't realize it was unusual though. I don't even know what the proper name is. Silver/burgundy?

When I was ordering interior parts for my Fury I gave a shopping list to the boys at RPM in Saskatchewan (www.rpmparts.ca) and over about a 6 month period they found everything. Most of the delay was the very specialized roof weather strip for the convertible.
No you can't cut and polish a vinyl roof, Derick must have been thinking yours was paint. If the vinyl is smooth, with no bubbles or soft spots then you can clean it and if it's faded redye it. Do not use any cleaners containing silicon, such as Armour All.
If in fact you own any Armour All, get rid of it, it kills plastics and vinyl. I did a lot of reading and found a product called 303 Aerospace Protectant which I used to get a crappy tire. I think Walmart has the stuff now. It ain't cheap but it's f'n good stuff.

Hi Bill, Thanks for the info. I'll check out RPM for things that I need. I agree with getting rid of Armour All. I've been using 303 but it disappeared from crappy tire so I get it from the local parts store. No Walmart here (thankfully) since we are a small community. I see you're in Calgary - not too far away.

When I saw your location as "Sunshine Coast, BC Canada" I couldn't figure out where you could be located since every time I visit it rains.
A few years ago when my daughter lived in Vancouver, she drove a Chev Cavalier Z28 convertible which was so damp all the time hat mold started growing everywhere inside the car. She had to was the inside with bleach water a couple times a year.

Ha! It's true about the rain here. The reason it's called the Sunshine Coast is that we receive relatively less precip than Vancouver. Mold in cars is a constant problem if your car leaks. Even dry cars can get mold just from the damp air. I found that a trouble light left on inside a car stops mold growth, just have to make sure it isn't touching or too close to anything flammable.
Fortunately the interior of my 66 is pretty much mold free and has the nice old car interior smell rather than the moldy one.
