i do not have this feature on my year dakota.i pulled o2 sensors to look at them and seem ok.my understanding is that o2 sensors come into play once car is hot.my problem ,although at first it seemed to happen when hot, happens immediately from cold start. i changed distributor pickup coil with no change.i managed to play with it enough to the point its not even starting now.my thought is its the pcm.this is the third time in recent years my truck has died all of a sudden and it was the pcm each time in the end.my mopar perf pcm died after 10 yrs and im on my 2nd rebuilt unit and maybe time for a 3rd.i would buy another mopar perf pcm but they are not sold anymore and a dealer stock replacement is $1100 vs the $150 lifetime warranty rebuilt unit i have.downside i,t seems ,is they have about a 2 yr lifespan.i almost pulled gastank out yesterday to inspect pump, filter but after getting a no start situation ,i will get the pcm exchanged fisrt then see

other dakota owners i know have ordered these computers only to be told weeks later that they arent available anymore.i got my reman pcu yesterday and it fired right up,so im happy.a mopar perf pcu or a stock mopar pcu would prob be better but i cant justify the $1000+ price tag i was quoted when the one i got has a lifetime warranty . the turnaround of 3 days may suck, but i bet it is still quicker than droppin it off at a dealer and waiting a week and i doubt they are gonna give me a lifetime warranty on the pcu or the upcharge of other parts that they would say i need.thanks for your help

understand . Like I said they are vender shipped , we order them thru our parts then Chrysler orders them through whom ever they have build them for Chrysler then that company sends them directly to the dealer. we usually haet order 2or three older pcm's a month for both dodge and jeeps our usual turn around is about 2/5 days.
