I know this doesn't really fit the 'performance' forum, but it's where I respond most and where most people would know me, so hopefully it doesn't get moved. Here's a little life update...
I buried my 65 SF 4-speed car in a buddy's barn forever ago. I've had her for about 21 years and she's the victim of the big dreams of a 1st-time 'auto restorer'. You know the story - 'I wanna tear this car all apart and do a world class resto on it'. Drove it maybe 1000 miles before naïve judgment started setting in and parts started coming off. The 383 and 4sp and 3.91 gears was quite a fun car for a 22-year-old, no matter how ratty she looked. I was Arnie Jr and she was Christine's daughter.
Over the years more suitable driver-quality cars have come along (and went away), and she sat waiting.
Then 4.5 years ago I got married, and 2 nice cars and a bunch of parts went away. Kept this 65 though (and 2 others), as nobody in their right mind would buy it the way it sat. Plus the dream still smoldered a little.
2 years ago we moved across town to a much larger house. Got a huge unfinished basement, which I was allowed full reign of, that now holds parts on shelves (and almost neatly, I might add, which was a new experience for me). Still only a 2-car garage, though.
Last fall I got a 24x30 detached built. It now holds 1 300L (whose engine spun a bearing on startup back in Dec ) and a bunch of parts from the basement. Not all the parts, though - Rome wasn't built in a day.
And this past Friday, my Fury came home to home. First she has seen daylight in a long time.
The plan is to see if she still runs, how much of my old repairs need re-repaired, and then to get her road-drivable again. After that, probably 'for sale' time.

Yeah, I'm torn on it. Even to get it road-ready is far more work than I have time for, it needs more $$ than it would ever be worth, yet it would be a shame to sell it as-is becuase somebody might part it out - which would be a shame.
It would almost make sense to sell it and use the $$ to buy a trans/BH and convert one of my other nicer cars to have the 4-on-floor fun (or 5-on-floor) as I have all the pedals and other stuff. That would save me a ton of time.
Plus whenever I think about buying another car that would be enjoyable as-is, wifey asks which one I'm gonna sell to make space. And she's right about that.
I dunno. This has been my conundrum for the last few years, the only difference is now the car is home and the scenario is now real. I have 1 more car to get home from storage and then I'll re-evaluate.
But if she was road-ready right now, there's no way I'd part with her.

would you put a turbo on something already!
AF took the wind out of my sails, I had plans to have the world's first turbocharged 68 Fury. He even beat me by doing it in the same color, too. Maybe I can make the first turbo'd 300L???

Wow, nice (but dusty)! There's a lot to like about that Fury and you've had it tucked away for all these years. Whatever you decide it will be a tough decision.
I guess this also explains why you haven't emailed me back about the Chrysler parts yet.

Actually, it's still sitting in the same spot with the same dust on it, my wife, kids, job and income tax work have been standing in your way. You've been on my to-do list for over a week.
Rest assured, that piece of molding has your name on it, I'll hafta re-read your emails and see where we're at..

Up for grabs is the first _usable_ turbocharged 68 Fury.....ZING! Though with all the poking around he's been doing, maybe he's actually making it roll and stop and not just suck wind!

Nope, can't do it, out of space. Although it would be interesting to terrorize my snooty little burgh with his, and have the cops scratch their heads when the license and reg on the other car don't match. Kinda like the lions in movie 'The Ghost and the Darkness'.
