Thanks. I just finished fitting the drivers' side connector. My measurements were correct, it clears the emergency brake cable. I took a bunch more pics and will post them eventually, but I've been spending as much time in the garage as possible in the evenings, not sitting at my PC.
Before I finish installing the connectors, I need to remove the interior from the car and also clean-up the rust and grime from the floorpan where I'll be welding them in. I also have a couple holes to patch in the trunk. Need to finish it all before my dad starts bugging me to return his MIG welder.

I was surprised at how many folks are doing this kind of modification. Never thought of a c-body as being flexible. Nice job, it looks great. Now many others can learn from your example. How much do the connectors add to the weight ?

I am just getting ready to do this to my 68 fury, the part of the frame that holds the sub frame on my car is a little thin so ill be cutting that off and replacing it as well. That is the last of the rust on my car. I like the last couple pics of the wood mock up looks good.

Im thinking about using 3 x 2 tubing and going through the floor for strength. Does anyone know if the tubing sticks through the floor about an inch would the factory carpet still fit.

Thanks for the pictures. I want to have the subframe connectors and the X-brace done before I have the interior restored. I know the connectors will go through the floor pan, which is fine, so long as I can still have the front and rear seats.
