Hey I know that this thread is rather old, but the videos appear to have "disappeared." Is there any way that they could be reuploaded? I am attempting to remedy problems with a 75 amp powermaster alternator in the 67 Fury, and obviously need to bypass the ammeter.

Also, I could use some advice from people who have experience working with stuff like this. I bought a 75 amp powermaster alternator because the old stock alternator in the fury was barely putting out 20 amps. This would leave the spark plugs starved when moving the convertible top, and if the headlights were on, moving the top would dim them down to candles. After I do the MAD conversion to bypass the in-dash ammeter, will I be essentially good to go? Or is the alternator too much for the headlights, parking lights, top, and brake lights that are hard-wired? After running the car with the alternator in for just a couple of minutes it is obvious that the headlights are brighter, the top moves quickly and smoothly without any grumbles from the hydraulics, and the engine runs incredibly smoothly. Is this too much power for them over time? Or will I be fine using this alternator? I originally bought it with the intention of later putting a better stereo into the car, as well as installing an old Kenmore under-dash air conditioner, and I figured that they could use a little more than stock power. What do you think?

Make sure you upgrade all the wiring to handle the extra power or the car will melt. Install a good electronic voltage regulator to match the alternator. Install a relay harness for the headlights, and good quality wiring ,fuses, etc when hooking up your stereo.
