Hey SportFury440 I'm taking my 65 Fury III (mild 440, mild converter, 3.23 sg rear) to Osceola Dragway in Indiana tonite if it doesn't rain. It is a test and tune nite, have never dragged the car. Will send the results Monday, hopefully nothing will break. I've had this car 20 years now and it's about time to see how it does.
OK heres the best from Friday night - 14.8332 @ 92.38, 2.1632 60' time, .3578 reaction. Car is a 1965 Fury III, .020 over 440, performer manifold/750 holley, mild mopar cam, stock ex manifolds w/2.5 pipes, 3.23 suregrip rear. It was about 80 and humid at the track. Not as good as I had hoped, but not terrible. 4 passes all in the 14.8-14.9 range, so the car isn't going to go much faster without a major infusion of dollars. First time I ever drag raced.

One word fury3.......REAR GEAR! The 3.23 is what is "mainly" holding you back some. Of course, a higher stall converter would help, but then cam and exhaust issues will rear their ugly head. It depends on the seriousness of your 1/4 speed desires!
I have found in the past that "some" will say..."oh I'm gunna run this in the 1/4 mile" then end up a second slower. I can almost count on that. Some are MORE realistic and get within a 1/2 second or better.
Your car is a "lighter" C body, so, like the yellow banana you see above you in this post, GREAT THINGS ARE POSIABLE! !thumb Tony P.
