You guys are just trying to shame me into bringing the site up to date! The closing comment about wanting a digital camera for Christmas was written in November 1999 so I guess a 5 year "round-to-it" is pushing it. I haven't done much to the car other than let it sit in my garage while my Crown Vic sits out in the elements, but I have literally a house full of parts ready to go. I'm not sure if this is a restoration or a life quest.

Butch, I'm tempted but I don't think it would be worth all the flack it would generate. I really should get the 440 short block out of my office, everyone keeps pestering me to do something with it. I don't really understand their problem, after all it's only been there a couple of years.

Don't feel too bad Bill, I had my car apart for 10 years. I started in 95' , I think ( can't remember exactly ) I got it back from paint in 99' or 00' & it sat there in the Garage till this time last year.
I kept collecting parts & putting off the reassembly. Kept putting cars together for everyone else. My buddy Larry decided he wanted to put his old Bracket car back on the street finaly so that was the catalyst. We both jumped on his car in 04' got it mostly done & driveable & then started on mine in late December. I still had a few parts to get here & there but it got put together finally.
Glad I did....my Dually broke the throttle return spring yesterday & I just drove the Fury downtown to get Tags & liscense for all the cars.
Butch
P.S. You still need a gastank filler tube? I think I just saved one off the parts car, I'll just have to go dig it out & make sure. I meant to ask earlier.

Butch, thanks for the encouragement, since yes I do feel more than a little frustrated with my lack of progress. I can't do much in the winter months, my garage is too small and for the most part it's simply too cold. I haven't been able to do much in the summer either, it seems everyone wants a piece of my time. Another factor, probably bigger than I want to admit even to myself; getting old sucks. I have the skills and the tools but no longer the physical stamina for major garage work. This is a most frustrating thing to come to grip with. &|
I would really like to find a "local Butch" to just take the whole thing away and bring it back done. After being burnt by the last dude and very nearly losing track of the car, I'm a little gun shy.
My, my I seem to be feeling sorry for myself today. Could be the weather, a week ago we broke 75 year records with +20 C (about 70F) temps, today there's snow on the ground and it's -21 C (about -5F).
Anyhow, yes I need the filler, in fact all I've got are the tank straps and the J bolts. I have a source for a new tank and sender. I assume the rubber, filler to tank, grommet is findable, but the silly filler seems to be something that everyone chucks out.
