I was digging in the bottom of some boxes and found an old Stewart Warner gauge set... the guages are no good so I put some newer gauges in their spots and mounted them in the car... I like it cause it matches the chrome and black vinyl on the dash... I'm trying to go for a 70's modified look..
Here's a pic...
I just bought a Sun "econo-meter" vacuum gauge for the car too.. it should be here next week...

Gauge set looks good although I find the dials to be too busy for a read at a glance, of course that could just be my tri-focals.
I used to have an economy gauge similar to that in the Fury but took it out - was too depressing and gas was only 55 cents a gal. At today's prices I think you are better off not knowing.

Yes I like that look. I think once you get used to where the normal postition is you'll know from a quick glance that eveything is ok.
Ive got some autometer oil and temp gauges I got from a swapmeet. I plan on fitting them in the same position. I might even put in an ammeter if I can get one that matches.

I agree a white line would work but as a person who lives for numbers and need to know all the details I'd still be bent over trying to read the guages while I rear ended some rice rocket.
I guess idiot lights were designed for people like me.
