My 66 new yorker is in dire need of new window track weather strips, anyone know where I can get some? These are for the metal tracks behind the vent window.
You may also need #1005867. This is the plastic rivet that attaches the roll-up window to the track, and is prone to breaking when the sliders get bound-up.

Yes, mine is a 4-dr hard top. My vent window weather stripping is fine. I am actually looking for the weatherstrip that runs in the metal verticle piece in the back side of the vent window, which is the main window leading edge weather strip. I just got another e-mail from restoration specialties this morning saying it will be available late this summer, however I would like to get it sooner than that, It whistles in the wind when the windows are up and is driving me crazy. I cant seem to get excited about doing anything else to the car unless I can fix those strips, I have looked for a long time and have been unsuccessful. [ Edited Mon Apr 06 2009, 08:03AM ]

Based on the description you have given, I think the part # that I already gave you is what you need. Despite the misleading part name on R-T Specialties website, this part has nothing to do with the vent window.
I've used these kits to fix the windows on my convertible, and I need to order another one soon to fix a window on my 2-door hardtop. 4-door hardtop should also be the same.
It is a piece of plastic with black fuzz on it that attaches to the front edge of your roll-up window in the door. This slides up and down with the window in the front track. (The vent window frame also happens to be attached to the other side of this track.) The kit also includes the plastic sliders and pins that attach at the bottom of the rollup window to guide it in the front track.
The kit is semi-generic. It's not quite the same shape as the original, but no one will notice once it's installed. You must cut it to the same length as your original piece and punch a hole through it in the spot where the pin will stick through that attaches the plastic sliders.
Eventually the black fuzz wears off the plastic on the original parts. Sounds like the source of the wind noise problem you're having. If left long enough it will start to bind in the track and the window will get stiff to roll up and down. Then other things break, such as the plastic pin that attaches the window to the rollup mechanism.
If you're still unsure whether this part fits your needs, contact Nigel at National Moparts in Beaverton, Ontario. Nigel is a C-body guy at heart; he should be able to help you out.
Cheers, Mike
PS: 65 Chryslers did not use the same system to seal the front edge of the rollup window. The front track was redesigned from 65 to 66. The 65 front track was more complicated, and had separate channels that strips of "whiskers" slide into. These are fixed; they do not roll up and down with the window. [ Edited Mon Apr 06 2009, 12:01PM ]
As Mike stated above, those part numbers are correct for the application you need. Even though c-body is not listed, these parts do work on the '66 c-bodies. I installed these on my '66 300 a couple of years ago and I was amazed at how much better my windows worked. As mike said, you should go ahead and change the plastic nut that holds the window glass to the bottom channel while you are in there, that 40yr old plastic is either already broken or about too. Good luck, Stan
