Just got a new vert boot for my Newport from Hydro E lectric. Man, it's great, but the snaps were not installed. I figure this has do do with stretching and so on. Any tips on installation? My wife wants to take it to the shop, but I think we can get it done here. Any thoughts?

If the price is reasonable let a pro do it, he'll have the right tools and the experience to do it right. Besides if he screws it up then he gets to replace the boot.
Look at the back of the top, are there small circles marking where the snaps go? My Legendary boot had these. And they would have been accurate for stock door panels.
The trim shop popped the snaps on in seconds based on the marks. The lower one was perfect. The top ones dont hit because of the extra padding on the door panels. I didn't realize this till last weekend when I finally got the interior all back together. I am ticked! Not much that can be done, it is about 1/2" off. But I am going to take the car back and let him know he should have taken it into account.

Scott- have him make up some offset pieces that have snaps on both sides so it can snap into your boot and the snap on the other side will be offset to reach the snap on the panel. He should make them with the flattest rivet part (or stud) instead of the rounded cap so it doesn't show under the boot. A piece of top canvas would be strong enough for the adapters.
