In a local bone yard in his "complete cars for sale" section. Pretty good shape Fury III 2 dr. Poly 318 auto, power steering, manual brakes. sheet metal is all good except the right front fender has a dent and a spot of rot in the right rear quarter behind the wheel well. All crome, glass, trim, bezels etc in great shape. Interior is all there but trashed. The whole car is filthy dirty...been sitting in the desert for who knows how long. Windows were all rolled up so water intrusion is probably minimal. I couldn't get the drivers door open far enough to see the VIN tag and get the number (another car was real close to it, my skinny ass barely fit!). Didn't get the numbers off the fender tag....but the certi-card is there!
It's dark green, black interior (I think, it's so covered in dust, it's hard to tell!)
He wants $1000 for it...offered me a built (didn't say how "built") 440/727 for it for an additional $1200
As much as a '64 300 appeals to me....the parts situation has me concerned. Plenty more stuff for the '65 and later cars.
Next weekend, a guy is "supposed" to come and buy/get one or both of my A-bodies. I've got a week to decide if this is the right car or not.
Oh, the yard owner is pretty sure this Fury is no longer in DMV's database....so no "salvage" title, just a bill of sale, get the VIN verified and get a clean title. He's going to "run the numbers" and let me know.

Sounds like a great car. The only stumbling block is it's ANOTHER car that Legendary Interiors has overlooked when reproducing the upholstery (seems like every car I find they overlook also!) They offer covers for 1967 Fury III split front bench and 1968 Fury III split front bench, and 1966 Sport Fury bucket seats. Hopefully something is similar to the one you found, otherwise you gotta go custom interior...

well, any car I end up with is gonna get restified a bit. So a non runner that needs mechanicals and cosmetics is fine with me....just as long as it's complete and not rotted out!
