OK, I placed the radio in a bucket of warm water Saturday (Boy, that felt weird!), and scrubbed it up with one of my old tooth brushes. I am letting it dry out now, I'll post when I hook it up again. Paul

Ok, the radio dried out after the wash.......hooked it up in the car...............and nothing.....it is dead! So my next option for the origional AM/FM is a repair or a rebuild with new insides. Any other suggestions?

Before you write it off, leave it in the sun with all the cover plates off and let it really dry out. It will take awhile since the spring sun isn't really hot yet, at least it isn't up here in Calgary. Put it on something black, to maximize the heat and raise it 1/2" or so to let the air flow. Turn it over regularly and let it slow cook! My favourite drying spot is on the 2x6 top rail of my deck railing, gets great sun and good air flow. Don't leave it out over night as the cooler air will cause air moisture to condense on it as dew.
If the radio was working before the turd attack, it will probably still work after its completely dry. Don't forget to put an antenna on it when you test it, a lot of those old radios won't pickup any stations without one.
