what in the he77 are these clowns thinking of 1970 Barracuda convert ebay auction # 4627954775(sorry not sure how to add in the link) original /6 auto car, HAS MORE RUST THAN SHEET METAL already has 38 BIDS AND IS OVER $11,100.00 bucks,I want to know what these bozo's are smoking in their crack pipe , the car might make a good paper weight, since alot of it has rusted away, not worth saving, has no big buck options. Read some of the questions the seller is being asked the best one was how did the car run , all the bunghole had to do was look at the pics and see the engine and trans laying on the ground next to the CAR!!! I will now get off of the soap box before this gets really long winded God Bless Tom P.S. I realize one mans junk is another treasure, but, this one takes the cake

The bidders are probably shops that want to turn it into a rotisserie resto-mod with a repop Hemi and sell it at next year's BJ auction for $ 130,000. Might be a smart move after seeing what most of those "more money than brains" guys were bidding. Also, with a real Hemicuda convert bringing $ 2 mil or so, a fake is going to bring more profit to a shop that can "poop one out" in a few weeks. Think about it.... $ 11,000 for the base to put about 50-75 grand into and sell it for 100+g's.......
I don't think thats there intention.Look at the broadcast sheet.Under #39 Special order the box is checked off,it's got a build date of Nov4/69.Could this be the first conv.built.Prototype.Most pilot cars were not converts. There were generally a lot of coupes made first.Would i shell out 11 grand for the first Hurst built in that shape,i don't think so.Course,i wouldn't give 11 grand for a RESTORED "E".Glen

My resources say that the 70 model line was introduced 9/23/69, with the Valiant in the showrooms on that day and the rest taking about a month to show up. So a convertible Barracuda made on Nov 4 is early, but it was probably introduced with the coupes, not like today when the manufacturers delay the convertibles for safety tests and/or to keep sales of the other body styles up. Even so, IMO, you'll probably see this Lemon Twist / black top / tan interior car at Scottsdale next season with a crate Hemi in it...... But...isn't there a better car out there for the money to start with? &|

UPDATE: 39 bids up to $12,000 bucks and the reserve is not yet meet(I wonder what the reserve is??), look closely at the under car pics, hit it with any type of sand blasting and it will all disapear, the car that is. All I can say is if this car is worth $12K to some idiot, then the Flying Whale is worth $300 grand, and my car, at least you can push it should be worth $30K Tom
