I'm sure this has been discussed a gazillion times but I just got a 66 Chrysler 300 and need some paint for the 383 4 bbl. It is not the standard Chryslker blue, but rather more of a teal or turqoise.
Anyone know where I can order it online or a code # so I can pass it on to one of the parts places here in the boonies?

I'm pretty sure I've bought it in the Dupli-Color brand at Napa and/or Autozone. Mopar Performance seemed to be the best, though. Bill Hirsch has it for sure.
I looked through some records to find some info on paint colors,65-68 chrysler w/383 (carter) had a "Turquoise" color,it is a med blue-green color.A lot of the people that have tried the mopar paints, say you should stay away from them ,P/N P4120752 Turquoise from mopar,(bad colors, bad spray and are very thin)Plasticcote is hard to find but very good and napa has duplicolor(easy to get).Bill Hirsch paint can be had at Hughes Engines. If you want a real good paint you can go to ppg/ditzler for the "correct" color and formula as they were the suppliers to the factory.A couple of pints should do a complete engine and this can be had in a "bulletproof urethane.Try http://www.totallyautoinc.com// and go to "Parts and they have great info on colors and years and you just know their colors are going to match.don't have #s for plasicote or duplicolor .Anyone else have bad experience w Mopar paint?.Glen

All I know is that somebody told me years ago about the problems with Mopar paint, so I purchased one can each of Hemi orange and Race Hemi orange (Max Wedge color) to spray test panels and have a paint shop duplicate them in urethane enamels. If they won't spray, I'll safely deflate them with my old leaky R12 freon hose/can tap and spray the paint through a touchup gun......

i just painted my 440 with the mopar turqoise, i liked it. it's all i can afford tho, i'm sure that hot tanking the parts, priming and painting with epoxy would do a far beter job. i just sealed up all the holes on the long block, sprayed it with oven cleaner and then hot water. a few times.
