Hey Hey! In Hemmings Muscle MAchines they recently ran an article on Mopar Transmissions. They said the same thing you did concerning the use of 904s, but did not specify the early years. There may be some youngster on this cite who reads your works and makes the same comclusion. I was clarifying!
In that same article, HMM did not specify the difference between a small and large block 727, 904, or any other. I wrote them and tey printed my letter.
My buddy has a stock 69 340 swinger, the only add on he put in that tranny was the cheetah valve body,man did that thing have a hard 1-2 shift and yet docile just cruizin.2-3 was awesome also,plus it kicked down just like it was supposed to.I did my own mods to mine that i read about in mopar muscle and mopar action magazines,built it myself,and i've got it just where i want it.Not too harsh and not too soft,just the way i like it when i'm towing the boat.I give the cheetah 2 Thumbs up.Glen
