Is it hard to find replacement studs for a 1969 Chrysler 300? I need 1/2 inch longer than stock studs for a new set of wheels I am installing. Where can I order these longer studs? If anyone has any suggestion or advice I would appreciate it!!

I may be wrong in my recollection, but I seem to remember reading about the physics of wheel studs. Basically it said the unused threads between the drum/disc and the nut should be ideally close to zero. I guess this is why thicker rims like mags have oversized stud holes and matching wheel nuts that when tight, are threaded almost tight to the drum/disc . So I doubt you will be able to use standard cupped wheel nuts on longer studs, you'll need to get the specific wheel nuts as specified by the wheel maker. The logic behind the zero thread rule had to do with the tension on the stud and what happens when the wheel gets sharp vertical loads as produced by running over pot holes etc. Sorry I don't remember where I read this, I just filed it in the "remember this" part of my brain.

Best thing would be to talk to the wheel maufacturer & see what lugs he reccomends for your setup. Can't go wrong that way. .
There's a reason NHRA mandates a 3" wheel stud in cars going fast. I forget the ET break for it now but I have them on the Dart for safety & I'm watching the Fury. Already twisted all 10 7/16" stock studs in the rear of the Dart after the stroker motor, Went BBP & 3" after that.

Thanks for the input. I will try to get the correct lugs for the wheel. I just hope they make them tapered enough to reach into the wheel and tread on the short stud.
