OK, I've had it. I thought I had my problem with the engine cutting out when I replcaed the ignition switch.
WRONG!
I cleaned and checked the bulkhead, the coil is new as is the dist. , and the starter motor and the relay, and the ballast. This is a converted electronic ignition car with a new MP dist.

What ECU box are you using???, I found the orange box that comes with the MP distributor kit is nothing but JUNK,JUNK,JUNK ( I went thru 3 orange boxes befor buying a NAPA ECU). I would either use the MP Chrome box or one from NAPA. Check the back of the ECU, if the gel is bloted and mushy, chances are it is junk, all the orange boxes I have used ended up this way. Another tip is if the ECU is bad, Totally Auto has an E-Body ECU firewall Bracket, this would allow the ECU to cool down better because it is not next to the firewall. Food for thought, keep us posted. Tom
It's the orange box and I changed it before thinking that was it. It runs fine but who knows. I also checked the gap between the pickup and reluctor inthe distributor and adjusted that, it was a tad off.
Maybe that was it? As I said, who knows. It's problems like this that REALLY make me crazy!
This ine was the worst, the car would just die and you'd have a hell of a time restarting it. I traced the harness, checked wiring, even drove around with the meter in the car. Like I said, I hope I'm done with it.
