Hey Derick- My original dealer brochure says 318 standard, 383 4bbl optional in the S-23. The 383 is listed as a Super Commando in the options, so I would say it's colored and trimmed the same as all the other models' engines - orange with the S.C. pie plate. Unfortunately there are no pictures of the motors to be positive. Anyone else have more solid proof?

Ecellent information guys! I really appreciate it. I'm looking at detailing the engine and buying the pie tin and didnt want to get the wrong stuff, I'm not ready to undertake a full resto. My car has AC and has remenants of turquoise paint on it. This is my first C body (have two A bodies) so I was confused on the paint codes and thought it should be orange. Hey Sportfury440 I'm from Clinton Township.

It's absolutely correct to have turquoise paint on an A/C equipped 383 engine- my 69 Roadrunner had both (and it's because the air cars used the 325 hp engine instead of the orange 330 hp one.) Just get your pie tin from a reputable dealer - there are incorrect repro's out there.....
