I have a 66 Sport Fury and want to do the 73 disc brake swap. What should I expect to pay for a used set up (expecting to rebuild some)? And what are some of the sources to find one, other than ebay and my local junk yard. Last question! Waht are the 73 c body models I should look for....... Polara, Fury and what else? Thank you Brian

The most important items are the spindles and maybe the brackets where the calipers mount on.
I did the swap on my '65 300 convertible and it was a bolt-on job. Even the original front drumbrake-hose fitted straight on the discbrake-caliper. My set came off a '73 Chrysler I recall. The rotors are cheap, so might aswell buy them new while you're at it.

I agree with BigBlock, but a lot of people I know would suggest that you switch everything from the a-arms out, and then get a rebuild kit for the year of the car you pulled the stuff off of. There is some concern about the size of the ball joint shafts being different.
Although I want to, I have not swapped the drums on my '70 Newport. But I am doing so on my son's '73 Gremlin, and that is just a matter of changing the spindles as BB said.

I just bought the parts for the swap from a junk yard in the USA, and paid 130$ for the complete spindles/brakes, and strut rods. The parts were in excellent condition, and only had to buy new pads. I asked the parts from many different sources, and got many different prices for them, this was the cheapest and the parts were excellent.

YOU USE THE SPINDLES,CALIPER ADAPTERS WITH MATCHING CALIPERS THE CALIPERS AND ROTORS ARE AVAILABLE AT MOST AUTO PARTS STORES. GET A PROPER MASTER CYLINDER FOR A DISC DRUM CAR ALSO AVAILABLE AT MOST PARTS STORES. I GOT A REALLY NICE REBUILT AND SLEEVED MASTER FROM PEP BOYS FOR MY 73 NYER IN STOCK AND FOR ABOUT $19.00. 73 HOSES, DISC BRAKE BRAKE PRESSURE SWITCH,WHICH ACTUALLY COULD BE ELIMANATED,MOST PEOPLE THINK ITS A PROPORTIONING VALVE BUT IT ONLY SENSES A DIFFERENCE IN BRAKE PRESSURE FROM FRONT TO BACK AND PUTS THE WARNING LIGHT ON.WHAT MOST PEOPLE DO TO DIAL IN THE BRAKES IS PUT IN A ADJUSTABLE BRAKE VALVE INLINE TO THE REAR BRAKES.THE 68 DOWN C BODYS WITH FACTORY BUDD BRAKES USE DIFFERENT BALL JOINTS. [ Edited Wed Feb 01 2006, 03:29PM ]
