Plain and simple. I was going to purchase a Toyota 4Runner for my mother upstate, and I wanted to make sure that it was as good as they claimed and pictured.
The inspector found that the engine was leaking oil, the engine overheated, the power mirrors did not work, and there was a nice big "hump" in the floor that was not factory, and had an impact on the underside to go with it, as well as the car being missing its airbags.
Cost me $100, but saved me $1 million in anguish, regret, and frustration.
This service works for private parties and dealerships too. You can even search to find out if anyone else has ever had the car inspected before you, and read that report for only $25.
I know that some of our members have had problems with this kind of crap in the past, but now it comes to an end. Costs $100, but doesn't getting screwed cost you at least 10 times as much, if not more?
