2 questions about height...
1. Is the 68 duals snorkel air cleaner housing (this one came from a 68 383 or 440 charger r/t (*)) higher than the 71 dual snorkel air filter casing? 2. Is there a single plane manifold available for a 440 that is no more than 1" higher than the stock intake?

Cool! Thanks guys!
I've been offered the 71 aircleaner locally here for some 120 bucks. I'll chase down the Holley intake as well. And The 68 cleaner must be worth something as well so I can keep costs down.
Seems that single plane works is far better when running on LPG (as I do), so I'm gonna try it. [ Edited Thu Dec 28 2006, 11:51AM ]
I epoxe'd in a center divider of aluminum down the center of the Holley Street Dominator that i'm using. It helps with the bottom end and makes the car more responsive, especially with the auto trans. When changing manifolds, block off the heat crossover, and you will p/u some FREE hp,you just have to let it warm up a little longer.I also gasket matched mine also,as my heads were opened up quite a bit.

The heatriser block-off is standard procedure on LPG/propane cars, I really don't need the heat with a fuel that's already gaseous.
As for the divider, on pump gas, it'll probably work, but since the propane mixer doesn't have separate venturis, I dont think I'll get any advantage from it. According to reliable writers, single plane works better with LPG.

I've got a 69 340,10.5 to1 Speed Pro's,Modified 750 Thermoquad,Flowed and ported "J" heads with stainless Milodon valves. I tamed the cam down last year to the "new" .484 MP cam and it runs just perfect w/the 2,600 stall and 3:55s,although i've just checked into the new http://www.hughesengines.com/partDetail.asp?partID=11664&eTypeID=11.6 rockers and these are going on next. It never stops you know!!!!...I've got a 4" K+N air filter w/ dropped base Moroso air cleaner and it clears the hood by a good inch.
