I read somewhere that the wheels from a 2005-up Mustang will fit old Mopars. Has anybody here tried it? I'm wondering if the backspacing would work on a C-body.
The Bullitt-style wheel would look great on an older Mopar IMHO.

Hi-c bodies have the came blot patterns as mustangs, eclipses, and maximas. They are 5 x 114.3. The backspacing of mustangs is pretty much the same. I have imitation torq thrust rims that were made for a mustang. They look really good.
The flat face with no depth on these new wheels don t look rite on an older car . A friend , put those same Mustang wheels on a 71 Mustng , they only lasted a few weeks cause they didn t look rite . My opinion . Oh and they set too far in also because of the back spacing .

That's the problem with most modern wheels. They are set up for a front wheel drive offset, and most, if not all, modern rear drive cars are now designed for wheels of that offset.

Aside from the offset, the other thing which could be a problem is the diameter of the center register, which locates the wheel, not the lug nuts.
You might want to measure the inner ID of the register on the wheel, and the outer ID of the hub on the drum or rotor to make sure it's not an "interference fit"....that'd be bad, m'kay?
I seem to remember my 1967 Dodge wagon having a spare that didn't fit, until I went to the local mopar only wrecking yard (this was about 20 years ago) and was told it was a Ford steel wheel That's why I mention the center register, because the bolt pattern was the same 5x 4.5" (I forget what the metric equivalent is).

A High School friend of mine had a 70-71 Fury that had Ferd wheels on it that said GT in the center. I asked his Dad "What kind of Mopar are those wheels from???" He said they aren't Mopar they're from a Ford!! I was shocked but thought they looked GREAT!!!
As I recall the offset is way off, you would need a 1" to 2" spacer to make them work.
I am amazed how many people want to put Ford wheels with the little horse on their Mopar. I agree the wheels are fine, but the horse would never do! Seems this question comes up about every 6 months.
Can some one give me the exact specs on these wheels?

I have to admit, to 'stang "Bullit" wheels do look kinda nice...but I'm kinda partial to the AR Vector SE's I got...man, I can't wait to put them on my 300 when it get the ol' refurbishment.
Hey 8, what would be a decent, common/available size 15" tire that I can get to replace my 225/75-14s?
The best all around 15" size tire for a C in my opinion is a 235/70-15.
They are a little wider than factory, helps fight off that pig on a bicycle look. It will put about 7.5" of tread on the ground, and have a 9.5" cross section on a 7" rim. They will be about a 1/2" taller than what you run know, so they will fill up the wheel opening just enough extra to notice. That will probably only throw your speedo off by 3 miles an hour, might not need to change the gear. My calculator says they difference requires 3/4's of a tooth difference.
That size is also readily available and affordable. The BFGoodrich Radial T/A, Dunlop GT Qualifier & GoodYear GT II all run between $80 & $90. My money is on the Dunlop.
Although, you could run a 225/70-15 and the height would be about 3/32" difference. Then the speedo would only be off about 10 rpm at 60 mph. It is also available in all those same models as above and about $5 - $10 cheaper.
I will caution you not to make the mistake I did on my cave Fury, don't use 235/60-15's. I put these on the front and they are too small, they look lost.
Now if you want to have a little fun, the 255/60-15 will fit out back happily on a 7" rim, and will be 1/4" smaller than your 14". If you use an 8" rim the 275/60-15 can fit and will be 3/4" taller than your 14". Both of those are available in the above tires for under $100 each also.

8, thanks a bunch! I'll take those recommendations into consideration !thumb In addition, I plan on looking into Yokohama tires, in particular the AVID series, which is what I replaced the factory issued Goodyears on my Neon with. GREAT tire, excellent wear and handling characteristics, fyi.
As it is, right now my speedo is about 10mph off at speeds above 30mph, so I'm sure I'll need to have my speedo recalibrated, maybe have a cable replaced, too...I dunno right now tho'. !stars
