I know what the FSM says about how to adjust the low/reverse band in the 727. My question is when properly adjusted, should there be a small amount of looseness in the band? Should I be able to move the apply lever a small amount, say about 1/4 inch down, and see the band tighten around the rear drum? As I understand it, the rear servo/band are actuated only in 1st/reverse. Was doing the FSM procedure for adjustment and the band is kind of snug around the drum and no slack movement in the apply lever. That does not seem correct to me.
