I am running a 750 cfm Carter on my mild 440 '68 New Yorker with TTi duals.A lot better than the factory puny Holley 4bbl (junk) and single corkscrew.
That Thermoquad is a realy good carb--when it is tuned right.Make sure you have lots of spare parts for it--and keep your tools in the trunk. There is no in-between with those carbs.Either they work really gooood or run really baaaaad. I love TQ's myself, but let's face it,they are getting old, parts are hard to find, and can be as moody as the wife with PMS. I had to scavenge three TQ's the last time to build one on my '78 NYB's 400. [ Edited Sun Nov 05 2006, 09:44PM ]
Thats why i like to play with the Thermoquads, you can throw it on a 340 to a 440,and you only have to make a few adjustments, auto to a standard trans car......again only a few adjustments.Race only......well you just have to lock out and wire the secondarries so they all come in at the same time......Lets see you make as many adjustments with a holley, and you have to carry a box filled with all kinds of jets, power valves, spring assortments etc as i used to do at the track.Throw a 750 T-Q on a 318-440 and it can be made to run like a scalled cat,and still pull down a good mileage figure. For a Holley a #3310-750 cfm is a good overall choice also. !thumb Glen

Ahh I got you now. . . Threw me a curve.
I have a 600 Elder on my Fury. Just right too. The higher the CFM the more power, but the worse the MPG. It kinda depends on what you want from it.
