Guys
Is there any difference between the 67 and 68 fuel sender pick ups?? I see Vansauto has them on ebay but lists as a 68 to 71 and not 67. I think they are all the same tank anyway.

Yes. it sure will be nice when the snow is gone and the gravel has been swept off the roads!!
However, I need to figure out my cooling problems first. I had my factory 22" rad re-cored when I first started my restoration and now I'm finding it doesn't cool very well. I didn't pay a lot of attention to what type of core they used, but it appears they screwed up. So my plan is to pull the rad and take it up to Red Deer where Graham had hi rad done. Graham is very happy with the work they did. At the same time I need to pull the heater core which sprung a leak last summer. I just bypassed it last summer to reduce down time, but my wife wants it fixed now! What is it anyway with women and heat!

There is a guy just north of DT up off Edmonton trail who has dona a bunch of rads for me over the years (i think 4 in total). Im happy with his work. I think the name is Calgary Rad.
You need the 26 inch in that. I have the 26 is all my cars. Also just confirm that its not running a bit lean. The 440 heat up fast when you do
My car doesn't have AC so the rad support etc is all 22" without a shroud. I can remember some stinking hot days stuck in Toronto traffic jams and the engine never overheated so I think my rad was not re-cored properly.
Lean - that is a good point. The carb was last set in Athol Idaho, elevation 2,390 ft, so Calgary at 3,450 ft would make a difference although it overheated in Idaho as well.
After driving EFI for the last 30 years or so, I'd forgotten how much I disliked carburetors and drum brakes. Thankfully I have disc brakes all the way around. Maybe fitech is in my future.

Ah. You could probably put a 4 core in it
I laughed about your comment about carbs and drum brakes. Those two are my plans for my Newport. I have an EFI system and a disc brake kit lined up for for spring.

That is the guy. (Calgary rad)
I have fuel injected two cars so far. The first was the 1970 Ford 390 camper and it went like a dream. The other was my 67 300 convert 440 and it fought me the whole way. Both used an gym tbi controlled by mega squirt and Ford waisted spark ignition.
For the Newport I bought a used tbi system. It will get installed in spring. Murray who owned it before loved the system.
