Well this is the weirdest place ive seen a crack. At the deck of the block between #5&7. Very disdapointed as i thought this would be a rebuildable motor.
Haha. I.might do that since that motor will be getting scrapped. Or i might put away in a corner somewhere. Now the trouble is to find a 440 that isnt buggered up like this one.

It depends on what you planed on doing. Rebuilding a motor is no more or less work then building a stroker. However, if the plan was to just clean up the bores and put some parts in then... Yeah, your looking at more work and money now. Where are you at? I have either a 440 or a 400, as well as some 383 motors in need of some love. Some could just drop in and others would need some love. I'd be willing to donate a motor rather than seeing them just sit. God knows I'll never get around to using them all. Funny thing is I'm going to look at a 360 drive-train today. I need a shrink. That is a weird place to see a crack.

Yep brought home the 360 with trans and rear end for my van. $250.00 I couldn't get the rear axle I needed for that in the local yards.
My brother lives in Wood Stock New Brunswick. Yeah I meant donate, like give to someone that would use it and not flip it... I'm in Northern Wisc. Half way between the north pole and the equator. If you ever make your way down this far let me know.
