There's only one that I know of that fit "first time, every time" and that's TTI's. I'm sure there's others but when I put them on my '65 it was a guarantied fit. Actually I bought the whole exhaust system and put it on in three hours front to back. I only encountered one issue - the manifold bolts go into the cooling jacket and I didn't drain the cooling system. Lucky for me I had a drain pan and caught most of it. Mine have been on for five years - no rust, no bluing and most of all no leaks. I guess you really do get what you pay for.

Go to this thread, second post down. There are links to install thread for Schumachers (mine), Hedman shorties and Hedman long-tube headers. Someone may have done a detailed write-up for TTIs but I'm not aware of it.
How did your TTIs fit? I need to go to 2" primaries on my 65 Fury 440/ 4 speed, soon to be a 526 R/B stroker. I have Hookers now by PO, not sure of the model number, but they fit just fine.

65 Fury w/440 isn't the same as 65 Fury w/383. A 440 wasnt available in them until 66 and the stub frame is different. You may want to call TTI or Schumacher to see if they have a solution that handles the 440 in a 65. I'm using B-Body headers for a 440. They were cheap on craigslist. So banging them up to fit and bent to fit by the torsion bars was ok. Then I'll have them ceramic coated once they fit. Unfortunately my Fury has been at a stand still @ the body shop for over year. The whole front end has been dissembled so I cant say what the final fit looks like.
Yea the 426 was available in 65 (RB), with the 440 being available in 66, but either way, it's probably not going to be specific for our cars, just something that happens to fit. When I compare my 63 426 Fury, there isn't anywhere near the room of the 65. Even though the C body has way more room, the C body has the torsion bar smack dab in the middle of where the header goes. I get my 65 back this week Kelly, I think they went into the body shop about the same time. I'm very happy to finally get it back home, I feel you pain!

TTI's BB headers are just that - for all BB engines with the exception of Hemi's and RB engines. I am sure they make for this application but you would have to inquire. One thing that will scare the sh#t out of the installer is the fact that the torsion bar on the passenger side cuts between two lower tubes, but, not to worry they fit perfectly. Another neat thing about these headers is the slotted mounting holes that allow the bolts to be installed followed by sliding the header forward and then tightening the bolts. The bolt heads are somewhat small ( 7/16 head ) but when you use their gaskets leaks are a thing of the past regardless of bolt size.
