If I compare your engine to the one I built, and posted the dyno sheet of (several times) There are only 3 real differences.
Yours is 505ci, mine 446ci. Yours has a roller cam, I use a mechanical. You use headers, I use HP's. Therefore, you should have both more power and torque than mine
Assuming that you use a 727 behind it, you will be loosing about 130hp between the wheels and the end of the crank. That would give you about 510hp there at 5400. Which is not to shabby. Thing is, (not boasting) mine makes 538hp at 4600, as well as more torque - over 600 at the crank between 2600 and 4600. So, I'm suspecting that your engine needs a bit of dialling in.
Anyone who loves building engines will find this website the best on the net. HANDS DOWN. http://www.enginebuildermag.com/2007/10/horsepower-building-in-and-bolting-on/ It talks about friction, tolerances, free hp and proper machining, etc. Some of the best discussions with some of the best builders in the nation such as Bill Miller,Ray Barton, the Petty's etc. A lot of parts are available to us that we could have never envisioned 20 years ago. The subjects such as oiling mods is especially interesting to me. You don't have to spend much to gain 20-30 hp above stock.
